With a Can Do Scholarship, you can start that uni degree!

Completing a uni degree could help change your life, giving you the confidence to take control of your future. With our Can Do Scholarship, you get up to seven introductory units for free, which then makes you eligible to apply for a Commonwealth supported place (CSP).

A CSP is an undergraduate degree financially supported by the Australian Government. As a CSP student, you may also be eligible to apply for HECS-HELP.

A Can Do Scholarship is the right option, if you:

  1. Have never completed a uni degree
  2. Are an Australian citizen or Permanent Humanitarian visa resident in Australia
  3. Are eligible to receive Government benefits for the duration of your study
  4. Would like to complete a CSP degree through Open Universities Australia (OUA)
  5. Are not yet eligible for a CSP degree but may have completed some OUA preparatory or undergraduate units

Find out more information or apply using the application form below. Applications close for our next Study Period on 6 October!

Commonwealth Supported Places

Students who complete their 'Can Do' Scholarship units (up to 3 preparatory units and 4 undergraduate units are covered by the scholarship) are eligible for a CSP.

A CSP is a place in a university course where the Australian Government covers part of the cost of your degree. This means you can achieve your degree while paying lower fees!

And, as a CSP student, you may also be eligible for HECS-HELP, which allows you to defer the cost of your degree.

Eligibility Criteria

In 2012, 80% of Can Do Scholarship applicants were successful, so you have nothing to lose!

To be eligible for a Can Do Scholarship, you must be:

  • An Australian citizen, or a Permanent Humanitarian visa resident in Australia
  • Eligible to receive Centrelink benefits for the duration of your study with OUA
  • Able to demonstrate your commitment and capability to study at university level
  • Intending to complete a CSP degree through OUA
  • Not yet eligible for a CSP degree but may have completed some OUA preparatory or undergraduate units
